Lithium-ion battery

is a rechargeable battery that operates primarily as a result of lithium ions travelling back and forth between the positive and negative electrodes. An integrated lithium compound serves as the electrode material in lithium-ion batteries. Lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2), lithium manganate (LiMn2O4), lithium nickelate (LiNiO2), and lithium iron phosphate are the most widely utilized cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO4).
