Why can't an 18650 battery be recharged after its power is depleted?
First, when using any 18650 lithium battery cell, ensure that a battery protection board is welded. Without a protection board, an 18650 cell is prone to explosion when fully charged (the function of the protection board is to cut off charging when the battery reaches its maximum voltage); or after being completely discharged, the voltage drops to zero (the function of the protection board is to cut off charging when the battery reaches its minimum voltage), making the battery unable to be recharged and rendering it scrap.
Not only can an 18650 battery not be recharged after it runs out of power, but all lithium batteries, including polymer batteries, cannot be fully discharged. Once over-discharged, the battery is damaged, and this damage is irreversible. Therefore, lithium batteries should be charged promptly if they are left unused for a long time
